Monday 2nd Nov 2009
This year the much loved Ronnie Johanson was inducted in to the BAD Hall of Fame. The Post Lounge wishes a very big congratulations to our very deserving friend and colleague. You can watch the video presentation from the Awards on our blog, and read Coops' touching tribute to Ronnie in our editorial piece below.
"Without doubt the man of the moment at this years BAD Awards was none other than my very good mate Ronnie Johanson. I was totally thrilled to see Ronnie get the recognition that he deserves for his many years of tireless dedication the Brisbane Advertising Industry when he was inducted into the BAD Hall of Fame. To say that there is no one more deserving may seem a little blase, but in Ronnie's case I have no doubt that anyone who has had the pleasure to work with him would share my sentiment.I first met Ronnie when he joined Martin Williams Films in the mid 70's as a cinematographer. I was a young and aspiring editor and it was such a great honour for me to have the opportunity to serve my apprenticeship alongside a man who has such a great passion for his craft. Add to this his infectious personality and you have a formula for success that has held me in good stead for many years. They say that your success in business is a result of the influence from those people who helped you to get a start and I must say I couldn't agree more. I attribute my success today to the influence of Ronnie who mentored me through my younger years and encouraged me to start my own business in the late 70's.The fact that Ronnie is still in demand today as a Director/DP is testament to his unwavering passion and talent. This man of many colours has stood the test of time with his integrity well in tact and I continue to be inspired by his dedication."
