Queensland and Northern Territory ACS Awards
Wednesday 18th Nov 2009
On Saturday 14th November, cinematographers statewide celebrated The Post Lounge Queensland and Northern Territory ACS Awards for 2009. Held at the Tivoli Theatre in Brisbane, the night opened with a ‘memorable’ performance from variety act ‘The Man Gravies’ (starring Ron Johanson ACS, Brendan Williams ACS, John Stokes ACS, Andrew Conder ACS, Tony Luu ACS and Bobby Blasdall), before the serious task of handing out over 59 awards across 17 categories began.
Amongst the highlights was the accreditation of Tony Luu, who now proudly displays the prestigious ACS after his name. The 2009 Edwin Scragg Award was given to industry legend John Stainton, in appreciation for his outstanding dedication to the industry over the last 30 years.
Special mention also to The Post Lounge collaborations ‘Glenn Owen Dodds’ (Tony Luu ACS), QLD Transport ‘Lone Driver’ (Brendan Williams ACS), RACQ Learn2Go (Aron Leong), QLD Transport ‘Here For Life’ (John Stokes ACS) and University of the Sunshine Coast (Aron Leong).
