The Post Lounge Hits the Road

Monday 3rd May 2010

by Trina Grant, Producer.

The Post Lounge was recently commissioned by QGC to film and edit the inaugural What's My Trade roadshow, held in Dalby and Chinchilla last month.

What's My Trade, an initiative of Gladstone Area Group Apprentices Limited (GAGAL), was brought to the Western Downs for the first time in 2010 through a partnership with coal seam gas producer QGC and local training organisation, Downs Group Training. The Roadshow encourages young people to participate in a variety of trades under the supervision of qualified tradespeople and other volunteers including several QGC employees.

Children from the region's primary and high schools across the Western Downs area attended the inaugural What's My Trade roadshow. Over two days the students tried their hand at skills related to painting, tiling, boilermaking, flooring, horticulture, plumbing, warehousing, hospitality and electrical trades.

Filming and interviewing up to 700 school children was a lot of fun. Having a child of my own I was able to relate to the kids and you really get swept up in their excitement. Wouldn't it be great to be a kid again?

The most enjoyable element of this project was the strong collaboration between TPL and QGC. As TPL was shooting and completing post production on the project, we were able to work closely with the client from conception to completion, giving them total confidence their AV was being handled by a company who knows the intricacies of production and post production requirements.

The Corporate AV will be posted on the QGC website for the Social Performance division.
