The Juice was Worth the Squeeze

Monday 27th Sep 2010

The Post Lounge would like to congratulate the makers of local feature film Jucy, which is being globally represented by Odin's Eye Entertainment at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.

Produced by KCDC’s Kelly Chapman, Jucy is the second installment in Australian director Louise Alston’s trilogy of “quarter-life crisis” films. Jucy describes itself as a womantic comedy and offers insight and exploration of the intricacies of female communication, a subject rarely depicted in mainstream cinema.

We’d also like to commend The Post Lounges’ Sound Designer, James Starnes, who completed sound production for the film, as well as the tremendous time and dedication shown by our company Director and one of the film’s Executive Producers, Steve Cooper.

“It was just great fun working with Louise and the girls (Cindy and Francesca) on this one and I'm not at all surprised it's doing so well.  For me it was always just a matter of time,” says James Starnes.

The film has been creating a splash since its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 13 and 18 as part of the Contemporary World Cinema program, which for all involved is proof that the juice was worth the squeeze. Congratulations!
