Returning From War
Wednesday 29th Sep 2010
Our work on the ABC film Sisters of War began with rushes transfers back in April and we are proud to announce that it is now fully completed!
Sisters of War tells the heroic story of Australian nurses and nuns posted in Rabual when the Japanese invasion and occupation occurred during World War II. It is a tale of strength, survival and forgiveness.
Produced by Andrew Wiseman of Pericles Films, directed by Brendan Maher and shot by Ben Nott ACS, this visually stunning film is now completed and The Post Lounge team could not be prouder of the work achieved.
“When Andrew first approached us with this project we jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it. It's a fascinating, untold true story and we really wanted to do it justice. As always it's advantageous for the production team to get us involved early in the process to ensure the visual effects shots are planned and shot correctly,” says Zenon Kohler, VFX Supervisor at The Post Lounge.
“The Post Lounge have worked hard on this project and the results are evident. We've created CG war planes, snowy Japanese landscapes and matte paintings of harbours in Papua New Guinea and Yokohama, to name a few. We are all really proud of the work we've done and look forward to the reception the film receives when it goes to air” said Kohler.
We’d like to congratulate everyone who worked on the project. The final film looks amazing. Sisters of War is due to air later this year.
