Summer of Reef Doctors
Wednesday 7th Dec 2011
With the official start of summer now upon us, production is underway on Jonathan M. Shiff Productions first foray into primetime television with the commencement of filming on the new family drama series, Reef Doctors.
Set on the picturesque Great Barrier Reef in Far North Queensland, Reef Doctors will premier on the Ten Network in 2012. The show boasts an outstanding Australian cast led by four time Gold Logie Award winner Lisa McCune (Sea Patrol, Blood Brothers, Blue Heelers).
McCune plays Sam, a GP and single mother with a free spirit and a determination - who has an unusual hobby: venom. Running the remote Hope Island Clinic, Sam is an accomplished doctor, who with her team, looks after the residents of all the neighbouring islands, as well as the holiday makers and thrill seekers who visit the area. The residents of the tiny island pull together through thick and thin, proving that there are many different definitions of the term ‘family’.
The Post Lounge joins the Ten Network, ZDF Germany and Screen Queensland as a principal investor in Reef Doctors, as well as continuing our longstanding relationship with JMSP as a provider of post-production services. The TPL team is currently providing rushes services, with the remaining post-production and visual effects work to commence in early 2012. The Post Lounge’s Executive Producer, Steve Cooper says “A quality family drama series is long overdue on prime time Australian television and, when the opportunity to get involved as investor presented itself, we were very thrilled by the prospect”.
